After a week off for Spring Break, the Gladiator News Network (GNN) team returned to campus ready to continue producing the weekly video announcements. On April 3, 2026, the Video Production team resumed their work in the studio, preparing the newest edition of the announcements that will be aired in Monday, April 6 third period classes across campus.
The return from break marked another important step forward for the team. With several weeks of production experience already behind them, students were able to move through the filming and editing process more efficiently than ever before. What once required extra time and coordination has now become a well-organized routine.
This week’s broadcast also introduced a new segment highlighting the creativity of students in Ms. Fagu’s art class. The Art Showcase feature was designed to display student artwork and celebrate the visual arts on campus. By incorporating this segment into the announcements, the Video Production team has created another way for students’ talents to be recognized by the entire school community.
Adding a new feature like the Art Showcase required additional editing and coordination behind the scenes. Editors had to carefully integrate visuals of student artwork into the announcement structure while maintaining the pacing and flow of the broadcast. Despite the added complexity, the team managed the challenge successfully and delivered a polished final product.
Club members hope that the Art Showcase will become a recurring segment in future broadcasts whenever there are new student works to highlight. By featuring projects from the art program, the announcements not only deliver information but also provide a platform for celebrating creativity across campus.
One of the most noticeable improvements in this week’s production was the efficiency of the team. Compared to the early weeks of the semester, the production process moved much faster and smoother. Students arrived at the studio already knowing their assigned stations and responsibilities.
Each member of the team has developed a stronger understanding of their role, whether working as a camera operator, director, audio technician, or on-screen anchor. Because of this familiarity, the team was able to complete the filming portion of the announcements in a single take. Completing a full broadcast recording without needing multiple attempts is a difficult accomplishment and reflects the growing professionalism of the production team.
Even more impressive was the speed of the post-production process. After filming wrapped, editors worked efficiently to assemble the footage, adjust audio levels, insert graphics, and finalize transitions. The entire editing process was completed in one session, demonstrating the team’s increased confidence and technical ability.
The success of this week’s broadcast highlights the value of practice and teamwork. Over the past several weeks, the Gladiator News Network team has steadily developed the skills needed to operate like a professional production crew. With each new broadcast, students gain more experience and continue to refine their abilities.
Faculty advisors and club leaders are optimistic about the direction of the program. As the team grows more comfortable with the equipment and workflow, they are able to push creative boundaries and experiment with new segments and storytelling ideas.
Looking ahead, the Video Production team hopes to continue improving with every broadcast. Each week brings new opportunities to test their skills, collaborate across campus programs, and produce announcements that inform and engage the Gilbert community.
Students and staff who would like their events or updates included in future announcements are encouraged to submit their information ahead of time. To be featured in next week’s video announcements, all submissions should be sent through the Announcements Submission section in the T.E.A.M. links.
In addition, anyone interested in collaborating with the Video Production team on a special project can submit their idea through the official Project Request Form. The form allows students, clubs, and staff to propose video concepts, promotional features, or other creative media projects.

As the Gladiator News Network continues to grow, the dedication of the Video Production team remains clear. With every broadcast, students demonstrate stronger technical skills, greater confidence, and a commitment to creating meaningful content for the school community.
If the progress seen in this week’s production is any indication, the team’s capabilities will only continue to expand as the semester moves forward.
Go Gladiators!
