The Video Production Club met on February 27, 2026, for what members are calling the most ambitious and collaborative production in the club’s history. What began as routine preparation for the weekly video announcements quickly evolved into a campus-wide effort that brought together ASB, Journalism, Club 33 1/3, eSports, Student Ambassador, teachers, and administrators.
The result was not just another broadcast, but a production that reflected the energy, creativity, and unity of the Gilbert Story.
The weekly announcement video is uploaded every Monday, and this particular production will officially air on March 2, 2026. Students can watch the broadcast during their third-period classes, continuing the club’s commitment to consistent and engaging campus communication.
From the start of the February 27 meeting, it was clear that this week’s announcements would require coordination across multiple groups. Students took on essential production roles, including filming, script writing, set design, editing, and on-camera news casting. Each responsibility required focus and teamwork, with members working simultaneously to ensure that every segment aligned with the overall vision of the broadcast.
Journalism students played a key behind-the-scenes role by assisting with scriptwriting. Their experience in crafting clear, engaging copy helped shape the structure and tone of the announcements. By refining wording and organizing content effectively, Journalism students ensured that the final script was both informative and professional.
Club 33 1/3 contributed by providing and organizing the music featured throughout the video. Music selection and sound coordination are often overlooked elements in production, yet they significantly influence the energy and pacing of a broadcast. Their involvement elevated the overall quality and cohesiveness of the final product.
ASB members also participated, working alongside Mr. Dechene on a new segment titled “Would You Rather with Dechene.” The interactive feature adds humor and personality to the announcements, encouraging greater student engagement. The segment invites students to consider lighthearted and creative scenarios, bringing an entertaining dimension to the weekly broadcast while maintaining school spirit.
The Student Ambassador Joshua Ramirez and members of the eSports program also contributed to various parts of the production process, helping coordinate segments and support the overall flow of the broadcast. Teachers and administrators provided guidance and support, but also played their part in this week’s “Would you Rather with Dechene”, reinforcing the collaborative nature of the effort.
Behind the camera, students operated equipment, adjusted lighting, monitored audio, and directed scenes to ensure that every detail was polished. Editors worked carefully to piece together footage, balance sound levels, insert graphics, and finalize transitions. Each step required patience and coordination, demonstrating how many moving parts must align to produce a single, seamless video.
The February 27 production highlighted not only technical skill but also leadership and communication. With so many contributors involved, organization was essential. Students had to manage schedules, clarify roles, and problem-solve in real time. The success of the broadcast depended on trust between teams and a shared commitment to excellence.
What makes this production particularly meaningful is the way it represents the broader Gilbert community. Rather than functioning as an isolated club project, the video announcements became a shared creation. Each participating group brought its strengths to the table, resulting in a broadcast that felt complete and unified.
This collaboration reflects what many refer to as the “Gilbert Family.” The term represents more than school pride — it represents the idea that students and staff can work together across programs to create something larger than any single organization could accomplish alone. The February 27 meeting demonstrated that when creativity, effort, and cooperation combine, the outcome can exceed expectations.
Members of the Video Production Club expressed pride in the outcome of this week’s announcements and appreciation for everyone who participated. The experience reinforced the club’s mission: to provide students with hands-on production opportunities while strengthening campus connections.
As the weekly announcements continue to be uploaded every Monday, the March 2, 2026, broadcast sets a new standard for what future productions can achieve. With continued teamwork across clubs and departments, the possibilities for creative storytelling and student involvement remain strong.
This week’s broadcast stands as a reminder that when the Gilbert community works together, the results speak for themselves.
