Here at Gilbert High School a great teacher was nominated for Teacher of the Year. This extraordinary teacher’s name is Mrs. April Buker.  She is one of a kind. This is only her second year at Gilbert High School, but she has been teaching in total for 19 years. She spent 17 years at Dale Junior High prior to coming to Gilbert.

Mrs.Buker feels so special to be awarded the honor and recognition of being GHS Teacher of the Year. She said, “no teacher expects to be chosen for teacher of the whole year.”

Mrs. Buker explained that teaching every day is something every teacher does for the good of their students and staff. She feels that teachers do not look forward to winning prizes. but this is, “a good exciting experience,” for her.
