A Family Tradition in Anaheim for Many Years

On November 23rd, Thanksgiving Day, the Anaheim Ducks players served free Thanksgiving meals to the community.

About 5,000 people attend the event located outside the Honda Center. Many families and friends were there to receive free food.

The non-profit charitable organization founded by restauranteur and philanthropist Frank Garcia, has been serving free Thanksgiving dinners to those in need in the greater Orange County region for over 35 years.

I’ve been attending this event with my family for over 13 years. I remember being a kid waiting for Thanksgiving to come by, being so excited to go and eat some Thanksgiving food.  They served turkey, mashed potatoes. apple pie and pumpkin pie, bread, green beans, drinks, and many more delicious items.

Firefighters also attended and were passing out hats and stickers to little kids. It was amazing and heart- warming seeing kids smile because that was once me receiving the hats and stickers.

There was also a karaoke event with people singing up on the stage. Many people got the opportunity to sing along to there favorite songs. Overall it was such a good event. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, and seemed happy with their loved ones.
