On Wednesday, January 7th, the first school assembly was held on campus. The independent company, FALCK, visited our school and conducted a demonstration outside by the lunch tables. The company started in Denmark and then branched out to different countries including the U.S.
Staff and students heard from Daniel Mandle, a professional advanced EMT, who drove an ambulance onto campus for students to see and tour. Several students had the opportunity to tour the ambulance and share about their experiences.
“Now I can say I’ve been in an ambulance before,” said senior Angel Velasco. “Very polished presentation, speaker knew what to say. The inside of the truck felt like a mini hospital.” said Caden Clark, Senior.
Jessica Sanchez and Jesus Ayala, students who attended the assembly, shared with us that the ambulance, “Contained useful tools like air suctions, the inside of the truck felt very advanced and high tech.”
We talked with Mr. Pobst who brought his photography class out to the lunch tables to take photos of students and tour the ambulance. We asked him if he thought this was a good opportunity for students. He said he did, and further stated it’s because, “We live in a dangerous world.”
This was an EMT program for students to show and explain what the program is and how students can become an EMT.
