In the beginning of March, notices started going out to AUHSD teachers that they will be eventually laid off. The Reduction in Force was going into force due to the decrease of enrollment of students and based on how the teachers got into the district. During that time many students started showing support to our teachers by posting up signs around campus to let them know they were not alone and how important and special they are to many students here at Gilbert! Their were many board meetings to settle this. To our favor after everyone’s hard work and effort they have showed to advocate for our teachers, the Boared of trustees decided to revoke the decision of reduction of teachers. Following that there will be some budgetary that will need to happen in order for our teachers to stay! Overall, Thank you everyone for your support and a big thank you to the teachers for all the hard work you do and the impact you leave on students!
