August 17, 2023 everyone was told a ” Storm ” was coming our way in California. I’m located in Orange County. It hit Mexico and brought record-breaking rainfalls to Southern California, The new’s had said there was going to be flooding and hard winds. Many Schools got canceled because of the storm.
On august 19, 2023 My parents and I got an email about school getting canceled on Monday due to what was going on.
Monday morning when school got canceled , I looked outside and didn’t see much. It was just light rain , I thought is was going to be worse like everyone was saying it was going to be. I believe there might’ve been hard wind because of the looks of it there was a lot of leafs, branches and trash on the roads; However, In some places in California there was reports of flooding that were posted on social media etc..
On August 20, 2023 an earthquake Hit 4 miles from Ojai around 2pm. during the ”hurricane” . the Magnitude was 5.1. No Death or Injuries were reported only shattered glass , cracks etc but nothing major.
Over all the the hurricane wasn’t what we all expected to be. The following day school seemed normal everyone was talking about it. They were saying ”it was nothing major just a little bit of rain ” and everyone went by their day like normal and no other news about it has been said ever since.
