Gilbert High School started a Sports Intervention Program (SIP) for students who wanted or didn’t have the chance to play at their comprehensive site. The program helped students raise their grades, and the students who have been playing sports have increased their GPA by 1%.
Girls have been included in the program, competing at the same level as the boys, making it inclusive. There were two soccer seasons, a fall and a spring season.
Gilbert has also expanded their program to include Flag Football and Basketball.
