At Gilbert High School, there is a music club for kids who love to jam out and make music! These students of music club are always so motivated and excited to play and write music! One of the students, Gabe, had heard that Café Tacvba was coming to town to play at the House of Blues. They are a very famous Latin band who are known for their alternative rock and pop music. Our journalism teacher, Ms. Frese, overheard this from Gabe and thought it would be a good idea to email their manager and talk to them about having us come see them perform. Their manager replied! Loving the idea, he graciously invited the students to come see the band on the beautiful night of November 7th

The students met up at The Garden Walk and waited in a long line at this sold out event. As students were getting to the entrance they spotted their music club teacher Ms. Frese. All eight of them then got into the venue, they were given their tickets at Will Call with a special patch to put onto their clothes in order to be seated. What the students didn’t know is that the manager had gotten them VIP, front row, balcony seats in order to see the band from a great view up top in the artist section! They were then escorted by one of the workers into an elevator and were seated. They first saw the opener which was American-Chilean singer Francisca Valenzuela. She gave an amazing performance with singing and piano playing.

Then came Café Tacvba! They played some of their songs like “La Chica Banda”, “Las Flores”, “Eres”, and so many more great hits. Midway through the show, Gabe stated, “This is genuinely the best night of my life.”

This is genuinely the best night of my life.

Andrew Gonzales said, “Yeah! This is amazing. I can’t believe they got us VIP. It’s incredible. Thank you.”

Cafe Tacuba performed for two hours and had so much energy throughout the whole night! By the end of the night the students were worn out from the amount of singing and dancing they did. They were all so thankful for the opportunity they were given and really enjoyed the night they had!
