Hi, Gladiators. Let us all come together and celebrate Veterans Day, Friday the 11th. As you know we have no school on Friday to commemorate this national holiday. Let us embrace and show our gratitude and love to our fellow veterans.

This year’s theme for Veterans Day is Honor. Veterans are proud of their military service in defending our nation. Honor reflects the military value and tradition of answering the call of duty.

Also, the organization NAVA, Native American Veteran Association serves and honors men and women who have served on active duty.  Tomorrow, The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian will dedicate the National Native American Veterans Memorial Friday, Nov. 11. The dedication ceremony will take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., as part of a three-day event (Nov. 11–13) to honor Native veterans.

At Gilbert High School we celebrate our Veteran staff members and thank them for their service: Mr. Likens, Mrs. Whalen, Mr. Shickler, Ms. Barrios-Gracian, Mr. Roberts, Mr. Finder, and Mr. White. And Happy 247th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps.
