Welcome, new Welfare and Attendance Liaison, Ms. Avila!

Ms. Avila is our new Welfare and Attendance Liaison here at Gilbert High School. She was last employed at Olive Crest Academy where she served as a Behavioral Interventionist for five years. She also has her bachelors degree on child development. She is the oldest out of four and she likes basketball. She likes different kinds of sports and she coached high school girls basketball for four years.

Ms. Avila hopes and helps to get students back to school. She asks students why they’re not going to school, even if its about problems they have or their own personal life. She wants to change students lives, and wants to get them to graduate. She helps students from ages 12-22 years old to transition back to their home school by helping them meet their IEP goals.  She has an open rule policy, she is there for whatever students need and they’re more than welcome to visit her anytime in the Family Resource Center, in room 43.
