Do you want a say in the next election? Do you want to make sure that your party and their desires come to fruition and you see some god damn change in this country? If you are between the ages of 16-17 then look no further!!

As of September 20th you can now pre-register to vote in the next election. A multitude of organizations have made a collective effort to raise civic engagement among the nations youth so what the hell are you waiting for!!

Although we have been given the right to vote at age 18 a large sum of our nations young adults still do not participate in the election, leading to an under representation of new ideas backed by young minds. Those roughly around the age of 65 have been shown to be the most likely to vote, and as you transition from a teenager into a young adult, would you rather take the initiative? Or be spoke for by somebody 40 years your senior that clings onto thoughts of a past life?

Only 42% of young adults who were eligible to vote in 2016 turned out and placed the names of their candidates into the ballet boxes. However this was raised to 52% in the 2020 elections.

As the future of our nation is completely dependent on us, it is most pivotal that this bar is raised or we will succumb to the same standards that got us into that have placed us in the socioeconomic climate which we’re in now, where cities are built for cars and not people, and our nations leader who is payed to sit in the oval office and not live up to a single one of his promises. As 15th US president Abraham Lincoln said profoundly, ¨Of the people for the people.¨ Fill out the applications today or soon either digitally or on paper but make sure that it gets done!
