COVID TOES
Watch out for your toes!
Yes, a new symptom regarding the Coronavirus pandemic is now taking over the media. COVID toes are most commonly found in younger children and adolescents, because of their immune system which is healthier than those of old age. They appear to be red itchy bumps that can be found on toes and sometimes on the fingers they can also be seen to be discolored The bumps may feel hot and have a tingly feeling they can also be sore and tender. Those who are seen with these symptoms were most likely exposed to cold weather which caused them to experience Pernio, in other words, COVID toes. COVID toes are due to the inflammation in the small blood vessels of the skin. Sadly to say that these cases of the COVID toes are mainly seen in patients from the United States than any other country. Though don’t worry about it, doctors are predicting that COVID toes are a potential sign that your body has successfully fought the virus, the symptom usually happens at the later stage of the virus which is the recovery phase. Therefore those with the symptoms are given an earlier release since their body had COVID-19 and had exposure to it. They won’t be dealing with anything severe. They may be recovering, but the symptom brings discomfort as the COVID toes can be painful, burning, or itchy bumps that can last for a week and those who are unlucky may experience the horrible pain for at least 3 to 4 weeks. Be safe! So those toes can be safe!
