Recycling, composting, donations, all ways we attempt to “reduce, reuse, and recycle”. One form of environmental pollution often not taken into consideration is fabric and clothing production. According to CBS the fashion industry is in fact now surpassing the airline industry for greenhouse gas emissions.

The project is one Adidas has partnered with Parley for the Oceans for creating the upper fabric section of up-cycled ocean plastic. With an estimated eight million metric tons of trash entering the ocean per year large companies such as Adidas moving towards green manufacturing could be a sign of the times, both politically and what consumers are looking for. Consumers looking for upcycled Parley Adidas can choose from a whopping one hundred different products currently ranging from cleats, to running shoes, to leggings and many more coming as Adidas hopes to make all their products from recycled materials by 2020.  If interested in supporting upcycled Adidas products they can be found at https://www.adidas.com/us/parley?grid=true
