Mr. Gavin Newsom signed a law for school schedules. His bill states that elementary and middle schools can’t start before 8:00 o’clock and high schools can’t start until 8:30. When I heard this I was excited because I wouldn’t be late anymore because of the late start. Then I read that schools must adopt the law before July 1, 2022 I was disappointed when I read this because I was ready for this law to be enacted. There is still hope but I doubt the schools will execute the rescheduling until they absolutely have to. I feel kids like me, who are always late, paved the way for the law to be passed. There are bound to be repercussions from this law and I think Mr. Newsom just satisfied one multitude of people being teachers, students, and school staff.
