On a windy Thursday morning, January 23 the gladiator soccer team took to the field for the first game. It was a challenging first half as the Anaheim Ilc team had the wind at their backs, and scored 2 goals.
But the Gladiators regrouped and took advantage of the wind to even the score. Lucio Popoca scored the first goal for Gilbert followed by Derik Perez’s swift action to tie the game.
Motivating the team and shining on defense was Samuel Jarandetto who earned his MVP distinction. Our Gladiator soccer team will face La Vista High School next Thursday in their first away game. Practice resumes Today at lunch.
