Homeless

Homeless

Juan Alcala

Back in 2015 a bill was presented to California state legislature to let homeless people to sleep in their car. Sadly that bill that would’ve helped many people, because currently in California there is a homeless crisis that could have been slightly dealt with. Now in 2019 a new bill is trying to be passed that is very similar to its 2015 predecessor that would allow college students to sleep in college parking lots. Now this would only really affect community colleges, but that would still impact possibly over 2.1 million lives all people who go to community college in California. This bill would allow students to have a really good secure place to sleep if they are to embarrassed to sleep in a shelter or unable to reach a destination for them to sleep. This bill even though similar to the 2015 one, it would be the first of its kind to address homelessness in students, and believe if passed that it would be a step in the right direction.
