Labor day tends to be an accuse for modern Americans to drink until blacking out and going to the beach to get tan but Labor day has a very big significance in US history, if you did not know. ¨Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.¨-Wikipedia. A few ways of celebrating Labor day in a traditional sense is to plan a day trip to a farm or factory, baking cookies for your local police or fire station, and/or  explain to your child why we celebrate Labor day. Now a days, we are not as traditional so we do things a little different like planning a cook out.

Labor Day weekend during 2020 is not an ideal event to celebrate during Covid-19. Americans tend to have large social gatherings to celebrate, which is usually welcomed, but in 2020 it is not advised from even US congress man, Bobby Scott. He says it is our duty as Americans to protect one another and stop the spread. So we should not go to the beach or have parties but, as a self centered country, we don´t care for one another so beaches will be crowded. I do wonder how these Labor day celebrated think about Covid-19.

Although it was advised against to not go to the beach, my family did it anyways. My family tends to have full beach day, so from 5 am to 10 pm and that is exactly what we did at Huntington Beach. My observation from the beginning was that the beach was mostly ¨crowded¨ more towards the water but as I saw ever group of people was very cautious and gave each other their own space but that did not seem abnormal for California beaches, we tend to respect our personal bubbles. After 6 pm the crowd switched and everyone moved towards the back of the beach more so near the fire pits.

Even when everyone started to fight for a pit, they still stayed far apart and made sure to be within a 6 foot radius from your neighbor. Even though, everyone tried to be as careful as possible, Corona Virus cases will for sure to see a raise within the next month due to Labor day just how 4th of July did.
