Quarantine protests
May 11, 2020
The quarantine has caused a lot of apparent changes like the temporary closure of stores and social distancing that requires us to stay home and stay away from friends and family.
While everyone is ansty about being at home all the time the majority are compliant and understanding of why this is necessary. However there are still groups of people who feel the quarantine is unfair or even some form of oppression. Protesters have gathered across the country and even more locally in Huntington beach. Over 1,000 people gathered in Huntington and no arrests were made. The crowds are dressed in patriotic colors and are seen holding signs that say things like “my constitutional rights are essential” or ones that just demand haircuts. Other locals have spoken against this protest and are continuing to stay indoors to do their part.
