The Untold Story Bookstore hosted a Mexican heritage event on Saturday, September 27th, which featured a conversation with L.A. Times columnist, Gustavo Arellano. He spoke about his travels and being an immigrant. He compared historic events with ICE complications of today.
The audience was made up of various community members, mainly Hispanic Americans, and a few students and staff from AUHSD. Mrs. Barrios-Gracian and Mrs. Maessen were there. Students from Rainbow Gladiators, ethnic studies, and journalism were there too.
NPR radio broadcast the event live.
Everyone in attendance applauded and supported the comments made by Arellano, who is a beloved journalist who represents the stories of the people.
