ASB and FNL promoted our big Spirit Week this week. Each day boasted a fun theme that encouraged students and staff to dress up and feel the Gladiator spirit throughout the week.
Monday, the hottest day of the year to date, was declared Pajama Day. The heat made it a little tough to get in the spirit, but for those who did, they got to stop by Room 36 for photos and prizes.
Tuesday was Twin Day. Students and staff who “twinned” were encouraged to get a picture with their twin or bestie. Teachers wore matching shirts throughout the day, but the highlight was Mr. Garcia’s surprise impersonation of his science department colleague, Mr. Shickler.
Wednesday was Jersey Day or Sportswear, so staff and students dressed in anything sports related, and played kickball at lunch.
Thursday was Decades Day to dress in a decade from the ‘50s to-2000s. A “Guess the Baby picture” game was played online with Gladiators aiming to guess and match who’s who.
And the week was capped on Friday with Adam Sandler Day. Everybody was invited to dress like a bum, and participate in a dunk contest at lunch.
Although participation in the week’s events was a little underwhelming, at least we have fun opportunities at Gilbert to get involved and make each day a little extra special.
