Substance abuse is a very sensitive topic as is, but teen substance abuse is even more sensitive. However, it is more common and closer to us than we think, and yet so much of our youth doesn’t grasp the severity of daily substance use and the withdrawal symptoms they cause. Whether it be marijuana, THC pens, noz, pills, nicotine, alcohol, etc. all these substances can cause withdrawal. What is withdrawal? Withdrawal can look different in every person but it is when a dependent user stops using their drug of choice and the body craves the substance causing the person to feel sick to name a few symptoms muscle pain, nausea, nightmares/night sweats , vomit, anxiety and depression the list goes on. In most cases, withdrawal is caused or happens when the person tries to quit, and your body begins to detox, but it is an overall very uncomfortable experience and process. Withdrawal depending on the drug consumed and the period of time it was consumed can last up to days, weeks, and even months and some may even have long term effects physically and mentally.
