Climate change isn’t a threat anymore it is currently happening, With rising global temperatures and with record breaking natural disasters such as the hurricane that reached beyond category 5 reaching a new level 6 in 2024 and also even California getting a tropical storm. Now are we prepared to handle these challenges or are we going to fall behind.
A artist by the name of Martyl Langsdorf made a doomsday clock which was originally intended for a prediction of nuclear exchange. Now scientists are putting global warming on the countdown as one of the catastrophes we the humans put down on our selves. The clock is more of a symbol humanity’s self destruction but this clock is an estimation of what we can face when the clock reaches its last second
There has been many signs of climate change such as the fires in Canada with the dryer season its easy for fires to occur. There has been many disasters also with record breaking heat waves in Europe and in California reach up too 110 degrees which was incredibly hot especially in the summer times with that climate it puts heavy strain on power grids and endangering lives. Now the question is, can our buildings and power grids handle the heat if the global warming gets worse over time?
Something we can do to try to make an impact on global warming is try and reduce our carbon emissions which is very crucial. How this is crucial is the green house effect when fossil fuels are burnt to make energy they release CO2 into the atmosphere the gas can get trapped from the heat from the sun which can make a insulating layer around the earth. Also increasing temperature which can be drastic in more areas around the world. Another thing we can try to help is Personal actions is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle like waste reduction focus on using less of plastic and packaging waste. Composting is also a good alternative like for gardens instead of landfill composting can enrich your gardens soil. And solar panels are very good for good clean energy for your home for lowering carbon emissions ,lower electricity bills and improve on energy independence.
