On February 5th, Gilbert gladiators joined project HOPE for their UCLA shadow day, exploring UCLAs vast campus from the bruin statue, the famous hill and all the way up the “stairs of death”. The field trip kicked off with breakfast supplied by hopes donuts, followed by a quick orientation of the field trip as we met our campus guides. The day was filed with visits to UCLAs most notorious spots, such as the hill, the infinity pool, the bruin statue and the Pauley pavilion. after exploring the campus and everything it has to offer, students were given a catered taco lunch made fresh followed by games and activities. Post lunch activities consisted of a tour of the mentors dorms, including all of the amenities for resident students such as the private study room and stores for students. The tour finished off with more games, a photo booth, snacks and a final group photo with our mentors.
