At Gilbert High School ASB hosted the Annual Great American Smoke Out (GASO) spirit week. There was plenty to do, with a lot of activities. Students got to participate from November 18 through November 22nd. We witnessed a house dunk contest where students and staff got to play on the basketball court and dunk small basketballs into lowered hoops. There was a judges’ panel. These were three teachers, Ms. OG, Mr. Oquendo and Ms. Frese, that judged each slam dunk.
Other activities included house Jeopardy, an eating contest, and anti-Tobacco-themed poster contest. These activities were specifically made to encourage students to not smoke and that there is plenty of fun things you can do that don’t include smoking.
