This past Monday, April 29th, Gilbert hosted a Home Game for our soccer team.
Unfortunately, our home team Gladiators lost 7-2, but they are keeping their spirits high for the next match on May 15th Against La Vista High School. They always look forward to playing against La Vista because they are a very competitive school.
Our very own Team Captain and Team Leader Mikey Huitron was interviewed by CBS News about how the sports program has helped him improve in school with his grades and his attendance. Mikey was also recognized with a “Si Se Puede Award” on May 2nd here at Gilbert.
On Thursday, May 2nd, our team played against Hare High School and was once again defeated, This time 3-1.
I spoke to Ms. Monse, and she shared that the soccer program helps and motivates students to go to school everyday to maintain their grades.
