The AIME Program is now accepting student applications for the AIME City of Anaheim Internship, a unique program provided in collaboration with the Anaheim Workforce Development Board with funding from the Californians for All Youth Job Corps. Accepted students will receive $18 per hour, and intern a minimum of
20 hours per week from June 3, 2024 – July 26, 2024.
This program has specific requirements determined by the funding organization. Students will be selected based on these requirements and the strength of their application.
Selected students must attend a Parent & Student Orientation of Monday, May 6th, from 6-7 pm via Zoom.
Student Position Job Description:
The employees will participate in tasks necessary to prepare the soil, planting seedlings, watering plants, removing non-productive plants, and building garden beds and irrigation systems. These activities will require the use of common hand tools, to include hammers, handsaws, shovels, rakes, hoes, wheelbarrows and knives.
Employees will also stock and maintain inventory by restocking shelves, disposing of waste and maintaining cleanliness of our community pantry, El Mercadito. They will receive, sort organize food donations, monitor inventory levels and track expiration dates and support with food distributions.
The employees will also be performing numerous office activities as well including use of common office equipment, computers, chromebooks and copy machines. Employees will design visual assets such as graphics, infographics, and posters, and leverage social media platforms email newsletters in developing a public awareness campaign.
Student Position – Entry level position with the following skills desired and education preferred:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Multilingual Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese or Korean preferred.

Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture preferred.

Ability to lift equipment, boxes and items up to 30lbs.

Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks in various weather conditions.

Passion for gardening, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of garden aesthetics and productivity.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Ability to create compelling and visually appealing content for social media platforms, including graphics, videos, infographics, and written posts.

Ability to develop and deliver public presentations and engage community stakeholders in a public awareness campaign.
